Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) Fundamentals
In this course, learners will be exposed to computer aided drafting and design technology through hands-on training in AutoCAD 2016. Topics that will be covered include user interface, basic and intermediate commands, drawing theory, initial settings, drawing objects, creating and modifying 2D geometry, correcting errors, object verification, measurement, text and layers manipulation.
Completion of this course will prepare you for continuation into CADD9503 – Computer Aided Modeling. Completion of both CADD9502 and CADD9503 will award learners the AutoCAD Operator Certificate.
A USB memory stick of 4GB or larger is required for this course. A personal computer with an internet connection is recommended for work outside of class-time. Minimum system requirements for AutoCAD 2016 can be found here: System requirements
As a registered student, you will have access to free software from Autodesk. Instructions will be provided in-class for obtaining the software.
