Computer Aided Modeling (CAM) Intermediate

In this course, learners will be exposed to computer aided modeling technology through training in AutoCAD 2016 (3D) and Revit 2016.  Using AutoCAD 2016, learners will be instructed on how to produce 3D models and Multiview drawings. Topics will include isometric drawing, extrusions, XYZ point filters, world and user coordinate systems, 3D wireframes, viewing 3D models, creating and scaling views, setting view layer visibility, surfacing with vertex defined meshes and polygon meshes. 
Part two of the course will use Revit 2016 for Building Information Modeling (BIM) to support architectural design and drawing creation for a building project.  Learners will be provided hands-on instruction in using drawing tools, editing elements, levels and grids.  They will also be able to create full 3D architectural project models and set them up in working drawings. Focus will be placed on building the 3D model with walls, windows, doors, floors, roofs, stairs, creating reflected ceiling plans and furniture plans.  This course will conclude with training in conceptual design with additional focus on space planning, massing, visualization and rendering with Revit 2016.

Completion of both CADD9502 and CADD9503 will award learners the AutoCAD Operator Certificate.

A USB memory stick of 4GB or larger is required for this course.  A personal computer with an internet connection is recommended for work outside of class-time.  Minimum system requirements for REVIT 2016 can be found here:  System requirements 
As a registered student, you will have access to free software from Autodesk.  Instructions will be provided in-class for obtaining the software.
