Computer Basics

Get comfortable with computers and the basic features of Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Word, and the internet. Find out how to open and close windows properly, use online help, and navigate with Windows Explorer where you will learn valuable file management skills.  You’ll also get an introduction to creating, designing, formatting, and editing documents, as well as surfing the internet and using Gmail (email). This course is designed for those with little or no computer experience.

Delivery Option:

This course is available through in-class and online delivery options.

Online option is available via weekly intake. The registration deadline for the online option is the Wednesday a week prior to the Monday start date. You will have four months to complete the course.

Course Material:

Fees include course materials including module. Online learners will have access to course materials through Desire2Learn(D2L) on the start date. In-class learners will be provided course material on the first day of class.


Keyboarding - Beginner and Skill Builder or typing speed of 15 wpm or equivalent experience.
