Microsoft Word - Introduction

Explore the basics of Microsoft Word. This course guides you through the effective use of toolbars, file maintenance, moving and copying data, manipulating fonts, font styles and attributes, working with borders and shading, adjusting margins and spacing, setting tabs and indents, and using headers and footers. Learn to use the AutoCorrect and AutoText features and finish documents by using the spellcheck, Thesaurus, and grammar features.

Delivery Option:

This course is available through in-class and online delivery options.

Online option is available via weekly intake. The registration deadline for the online option is the Wednesday prior to the Monday start date. You will have four months to complete the course.

Course Material:

Fees include the course module.

Online learners will have access to course materials through Desire2Learn(D2L) on the start date. Software is not provided. A minimum version of Microsoft Word 2013 is recommended.

In-class learners will be provided course material on the first day of class. This course is taught in a computer lab.


Computer Basics and a typing speed of 20 wpm or equivalent experience.
