Introduction to Purchasing Management

Purchasing management is critical to every organization's sustainability and supply chain. It is essential to be client-focused and improve the value chain in this global, highly competitive economic/business environment. Learn about the fundamentals of purchasing, INCOTERMS, risk assessment, criticality rating, scheduling, purchasing in different economic sectors and industries, technology in purchasing, ethics and social responsibility, and various supply chain practices pertinent to successful purchasing. Students will learn how to construct and read schedules, conduct gap analysis and evaluate case studies.

This course is available through in-class and online delivery options.

Online option is available via weekly intake. The registration deadline for the online option is any Wednesday. The course will start the Monday following the completion of your registration. To start on a different date please call 403-410-1400.You will have four months to complete the course.
